You can find the official government list of information on thousands of recalls online at www.recalls.gov. The site includes an easy-to use search engine, safety tips and information on how to report unsafe products. You can also register for

  • A free weekly e-mail newsletter from the Food and Drug Administration, and
  • Safety alerts from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The site includes information from the following federal agencies:

  • Consumer Product Safety Commission (information back to 1973),
  • National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (auto recalls back to 1966)
  • Department of Agriculture
  • Food and Drug Administration
  • Environmental Protection Agency, and
  • Coast Guard
