Tips on Understanding COMAR

COMAR: (The Code of Maryland Regulations) includes many documents "incorporated by references. "This means that the documents not included in the COMAR text but that it is officially part of the COMAR because it was mentioned in COMAR.

Examples of documents incorporated by reference:

  • A list of these documents may be viewed at the Maryland State website.

  • Copies of documents "incorporated by reference" can also be found in law libraries  throughout the state. Some documents may be available on the Internet, but it is always best to rely on the information contained in the "official" version (printed version).
