Starting your search for local codes

It is a good idea to search the website of your particular city or county for information on where to find their legal codes.

  • Search for Maryland county websites.
  • Search for the websites of Maryland cities and towns.

Some Maryland cities and counties maintain online versions of their code. Here is a sample:

  • Search the Baltimore City Code.
  • Search the Annapolis City Code.
  • Search the Montgomery County Code.

The for-profit site www.generalcode.com maintains some free local codes.

  • Search Maryland codes at    www.generalcode.com. Click on “Maryland.”
