Maryland Pharmacy Programs

In Maryland there are five special government programs available for persons with low income who need assistance in paying for prescription drugs.

Maryland Primary Adult Care program (PAC) – assistance for low-income people who are not receiving Medical Assistance benefits.
Medbank of Maryland – for chronically ill, low-income Marylanders who are above poverty level, but meet pharmaceutical company financial guidelines
Senior Prescription Drug Assistance Program (SPDAP) - help for Medicare recipients with higher incomes than those who qualify for the MPDP or MPAP.
Maryland Aids Drug Assistance Plan (MADAP) - help to pay for some HIV/AIDS drugs for low and moderate income persons in Maryland.

In addition, there are private drug manufacturer patient assistance programs that provide discounts on prescription drugs. You can directly apply for some of these programs. Other programs will require your physician to apply for you.
