3/23 Client Lead Poisoning Alert on
Dollar Tree Store and “Reebok” Giveaway Child Bracelets
Children’s necklaces and bracelets sold at Dollar Stores or
given as free gifts have been recalled due to high lead content.
One death ahs been reported to the e U.S. Consumer Products
Safety Commission, which made the announcement yesterday. The MD
Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning estimates that the
Baltimore area alone has 11 Dollar Tree Stores. More information

2006 Update of On-line “Quick Help”
Community and Government Referrals Directory
MLAN has just completed the update for the current year of the
extensive on-line Directory that was created as joint effort
among the following agencies – Pro Bono Resource Center, Legal
Aid and the Women’s Law Center. Intake and case handling staff
will find this Directory offers valuable help in making quick,
informed referrals to key government and community resources to
aid existing clients or as part of the referral process for
ineligible clients.

Call for MD Client Outreach and Education
Materials for Translation (3/31)
MLAN is seeking client-oriented materials that providers wish to
have translated into any or all of the following languages –
Spanish, Chinese, Haitian-Creole, Russian, Vietnamese or
Tagalog. Materials will be translated and posted to the Peoples
Law Library website as well as retuned to providers for use in
brochures and flyers. Depending on the number of materials
received, we may not be able to provide translation on all
materials received. Please send the English versions and the
language(s) of your target audience to Ada Albright, MLAN
Program Coordinator by March 31st.
