Here is a quick overview of the contents of the COMAR sections that cover Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs). This will help you to quickly find the section of the regulations that you need to consult. Title 10 of the regulations covers the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. (However, ALFs must also follow regulations from other titles.)

Tips on searching COMAR on-line.

  • Look for a topic from the list below. Note the number. Go to COMAR on-line

    • Select option 1 and type in the number from the list below.

    • Or you can select option 2 and then select “Title 10” and then type in the number from the list below.
  • Each regulation is a separate document. You must open each regulation in the chapter separately.  Click on the highlighted number in order to see the text.

  • You can also search using a word (rather than the number below). This will give you more results and may be harder to use. When you get multiple results, each will have a number. “Regulation text can be found in search results ending in ".01" and greater. Results ending in ".00" are TITLE PAGES FOR THAT CHAPTER ONLY. It does not contain regulation text. ”
