Notice Requirements for Foreclosures in Baltimore City

In Baltimore City the law has notice requirements for foreclosures in addition to those imposed by the state. When the new owner of the foreclosed property has obtained a Writ of Possession, the new owner must arrange for the Sheriff to mail to the occupants a notice at least 14 days before the scheduled eviction and post a notice on the premises at least 7 days before eviction. If notice is not properly given, the Circuit Court for Baltimore City is empowered to stay postpone the eviction for at least 15 days.
