Federal Statutes and Regulations 

Federal Law - Maintained by The Legal Information Institute housed at Cornell University, this site provides access to a fully searchable version of the complete U.S. Code, including the low-income housing provisions.  The site recommends limiting searches to specific titles for best search results.

Federal Register  - A website provided by the Government Printing Office that contains the Federal Register searchable database from 1995 to the present.  There is also General Information regarding research using the Federal Register.

Code of Federal Regulations - Hosted by the Government Printing Office, this web site contains a searchable, online version of the Code of Federal Regulations also known as the CFR’s. These are updated annually and contain the material posted in the Federal Register. Each volume of the CFR is revised once each calendar year and is issued on a quarterly basis.  Title 1 – 16 approximately on January 1, 17-27 on April 1, 28 through 41 on July 1, and titles 42 through 50 around the 1^st of October.

Maryland Statutes and Regulations

Summary of Maryland Code - This section of the Peoples Law Library offers an updated summary of the Maryland Law, with citations, concerning Landlord Tenant relations. It is maintained by BNI.

The Code of Maryland Regulations, Title 5 - Title 5 of the code of Maryland regulations deals with housing concerns.  This is a link to the index of chapter five which is broken down into specific subchapters including rental properties and federal housing programs used by Maryland.  These Codes are the official rules of Maryland agencies. You also can search Title 5 from a Search Page.

Baltimore County - Summary of Special Rules and Regulations - A summary of codes and regulations specific for Baltimore County.

Montgomery County Landlord - Tenant Handbook - This site contains the Landlord Tenant Handbook for Montgomery Co. and is provided to be a quick reference for issues developing between landlords and tenants.

Prince Georges County – Summary of Special Rules and Regulations - A summary of codes and regulations specific for Prince Georges County.

Takoma Park Landlord-Tenant Handbook  - The online handbook contains information on landlord-tenant law for residents of Takoma Park, including information on tenant’s associations, rental insurance, and evictions.
