Type of Service Provides legal representation and advice through staff and volunteer lawyers for victims of domestic violence. It also provides shelter and individual counseling, group counseling (support groups), and housing and employment advice for battered women. Children's services and community education are also provided. Liaison with the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Domestic Violence Unit in criminal cases of spousal assault to provide support to victims. The Domestic Violence Legal Clinic provides legal representation for victims in matters concerning protective orders, emergency restraining order hearings, custody, divorce, child support and use and possession. House of Ruth maintains a network with other programs for victims of domestic violence throughout the State and is a good resource for people outside the Baltimore area.
