![]() National Recognition for the Peoples Law Library Website The Peoples Law Library (PLL) Website has been recognized by two national law-related groups for excellence in providing legal information and self-help advocacy to low and moderate income Marylanders. PLL has been cited as model for other states interested in using statewide websites to increase access to justice.
The annual national Award is given to recognize persons or organizations that have made significant contributions to protect and promote greater public access to government information.
PLL received meritorious recognition as part of the Louis Brown award competition. The Louis M. Brown Award for Legal Access honors programs and projects dedicated to matching the unmet legal needs of the middle class and those of moderate incomes with lawyers who provide affordable legal information, services and representation. The Award is presented annually to those who have made creative contributions to the delivery of legal services in ways that are exemplary and replicable. We deeply appreciate this recognition of the work of the many organizations and individuals who have contributed to the website. In particular, we are grateful to the Maryland Legal Assistance Network (MLAN) staff; MLAN Research Fellows and interns who have worked so hard over the years.
