The public libraries of the Eastern Shore are committed to helping you with your case in court. Librarians are not attorneys so they cannot offer you legal advice or representation. However, here is what they
can do for you:
- Help you navigate the on-line resources in this Guide;
- Offer you a collection of self-help legal books;
- Assist you in finding the free legal help available in Maryland through use of the L.A.W. Database; and
- Help you connect with the clerk’s office in your local court.
This Guide is part of a special project sponsored by the Eastern Shore Regional Library as a public service to Marylanders living on the Eastern Shore. Find out more about this special project created in partnership with the Maryland Legal Assistance Network and the District Court located in Dorchester County.
