Hearings
Hearings are not scheduled automatically in pro se cases or when parties are represented. The party needs to request one. The court will hold a scheduling conference for cases with or without representation.
This court does not hold settlement conferences for pro se litigants or represented ones.
Varies depending on the circumstances, type of hearing, heaviness of the docket. Local advocates say that it can run just under a year for domestic cases.
Emergency Hearings – Pro Se Litigants
A pro se litigant needs to file a complaint, complete the request for a trial and have a certificate of service.
Who hears the case it determined by the type of case it is. Standing masters will hear CINA, rule hearings, pendente lite, custody, visitation and support cases.
