Description:                          2-1-1 is an easy to remember, toll free telephone number that provides comprehensive information about community services, crisis intervention, referrals to programs, and volunteerism. Callers can dial 2-1-1 on their phones 24 hours a day, every day of the year. 2-1-1 can link people to resources in 150+ languages. If you call 2-1-1, you will speak with trained specialists who listen as you  explain your situation, work with you to assess your problems and needs, and help you find answers to your questions.

Description:                          Provides free civil legal assistance to low-income individuals throughout the state of Maryland.  This includes residents of rural and urban settings, disabled persons, children, seniors, farm workers, and those at risk of losing housing, custody, health and income maintenance.

Description:                          The Family Law Hotline is a free service for people with basic family law questions, such as "What are the grounds for divorce?" or "If I leave with the kids, can I still get child support?”  Experienced family law attorneys provide information and referral on family law issues, including divorce, child custody and child support, name change, alimony, marital property, etc.

Organization:                       Legal Forms Helpline (Women's Law Center of Maryland, Inc.)

Description:                          The Legal Forms Helpline is a free telephone service for people who are able to file their family law cases without representation by an attorney (pro se) because their cases are uncomplicated and uncontested. Experienced attorneys can assist callers understand the process or complete form pleadings. To speak with a Spanish-speaking attorney, call 1-877-293-2507, leave a message, and an attorney will return your call.

Description:                          Provides answers to questions about rights in the workplace, such as discrimination in hiring, firing, promotions or other working conditions, discrimination based on pregnancy, sexual harassment, family or medical leave issues, unpaid wages, contract issues and more.

Organization:                       Foreign-Born Information and Referral Network

Description:                          Provides assistance in immigrant visa petitions, adjustment of status, and the citizenship process.  Also assists with reapplication for lost green cards. Volunteers are multi-lingual. INS forms available. Also provides immigration counseling and citizenship classes, interpreting and translation services, English tutoring, information and referrals, and a variety of workshops.

Organization:                       House of Ruth Domestic Violence Legal Clinic

Description:                          Civil legal representation to help indigent victims of intimate partner domestic violence obtain protective orders, divorces, custody, child support, and alimony.  Legal advocates assist victims by providing legal information and referrals, safety planning, and information about filing criminal charges.  Legal advocates also accompany victims to criminal court proceedings.
