Program Description

The Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center (ChesMRC) provides information, referrals and/or direct services for: legal services, immigration services, health, services, enrollment/ renewal of Medicaid and/or health insurance plans, education, employment, counseling, translation services, recreation, English classes, family support, taxes, driver’s licenses.

The ChesMRC is now a Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) Accredited Organization, which signifies they can legally represent clients in cases with the Department of Homeland Security particularly with US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) without the need of an attorney. They offer the following immigration legal services at little or no cost to qualifying candidates:

DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) Applications
DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans) Applications
Family-Based Petitions
Citizenship Applications
Citizenship Preparation Classes
They also work with local and regional attorneys to assist with any immigration issues that fall outside of our scope of work under the BIA accreditation.
