Maryland Legal Aid is a staffed legal services program offering free civil legal services to people who are low income throughout Maryland.

Maryland Legal Aid has 12 offices throughout the state and also operates three Self-Help Resource Centers—two walk-in facilities in the District Courts of Glen Burnie and Upper Marlboro, and a call-in center in Annapolis . Maryland Legal Aid does not accept fee-generating cases. Persons eligible for services are generally served by the office serving their county of residence. Maryland Legal Aid accepts cases in the areas of family/domestic law, public benefits, housing/consumer, and migrant representation. Maryland Legal Aid also provides specialized representation through various grants or contracts to older adults, nursing home residents, children alleged to be abused or neglected, and veterans.
